Live One, shut it off to download?

I play on line games and the last patch was all screwed up. They told me to
shut off my virus scan, etc. I don't see anywhere to disable one care. I went
into the msconfig and checked it to stop everything from loading on start up
and when I started back up the Live One Care icon was still there smiling at
me next to the clock on my bottom taskbar.
How does it shut off?
